Long weekend Camping and Golf
Okay can you believe it. This was the first time I have actually went Golfing. I had a lot of fun, but no pictures! And to be honest I sucked at it, but it was a lot of fun.
Camping, is so much more fun with a lot of people. We went camping with 4 other families, wow that was a lot of fun. We borrowed a tent trailer, we were not sleeping on the ground, so that was great. I think that we actually got the camping bug. A lot of the discussion, on the way home, was about buying a camper. We all got excited about the idea. The catch is though, that I need to get a JOB first!
The idea of going back to work is a very daunting to say the least. I have no real formal experience teaching, plus it has been a very long time, since, I actually had a job. EEK.
Here is hoping!

A week in Brandon
Last Wednesday when we were with Joy’s Parents, Dad was telling me about their church project. They have started an addition to their church and to cut costs they are trying to do most of the work with volunteers. So after a lot of prayer and a bit of thought I decided to go and spend the week in Brandon helping out. It has been a blast! Yesterday we put up the steel beams, well okay the crane did we just had to make sure they went in the right place. Its was cool to watch and help and realize the the entire upper floor is gonna rest on the beams.
It kinda made me think of beams and foundations and realizing if you are not set soundly it is very easy to go wacky. In a lot of ways. This week I have been thinking a lot of what my foundation is set on. The easy answer is GOD, but I wonder sometimes if my life is showing that. Or does it seem to others that I am a bit wacked. And is it a bad thing if others think I am a bit wacky.
UHM do I dare ask that?
Just what I am thinking

Us Summer 2009
Okay I have to admit this was a perfect evening. We ‘tried’ to have a fire in our fire pit, but we ended up having a blazing smoke instead. I need to work on my fire starting skills, my scouts leader would have hung his head in shame tonight. So instead we decided to hang out on the trampoline but it got cool quickly so a few blankets and pillows were snagged from inside. Then we started cloud watching but then twilight was making it hard to see clouds and the stars were poking through. It was so cool to be together just cuddling, joking and just being a family. For me tonight was a PERFECT evening. Early I was disappointed because the fire wasn’t working, the girls were doing there own thing…….
But now I am reminded of my blessings
Thank you GOD!
Another year at Corn and Apple
Well another year as came and went. Summer is officially winding down and Fall is kickin’ in! That is what Corn and Apple really means to me.
This year we told the girls that we would only do one day of Festivities, so we headed down just after 1pm and made it home just a few minutes before midnight. And I have to admit we had A LOT of fun.

As well the weather in Winnipeg was all over the place…raining, windy raining again with a bit of sunshine thrown in.
Kinda like life….If you look hard enough you can see something good….at the moment the good in my life is my family. Joy has been on holidays for almost 2 weeks and we have had a lot of down time, and we are about to play another card game of MONOPOLY!
anyway here it the photo from yesterday….
love the rainbow!

a sign of the good in the world!
enjoy your day!
Dalnavert
Today we spent the day in Winnipeg, with Grandpa and Grandpa. We went to Dalnavert House….and instead of explaining it I will let the photo explain it!
Gone Disney
DSC01324, originally uploaded by Bryan Prokopetz.
I have finally uploaded photos from Florida and this one caught my attention.
We had no intention of doing any character spotting but in Epcot we happened to get there for the morning rope drop (opening of Epcot) and they were out to greet the guests. Perfect to catch a few photos.
It got me thinking though about Disney Magic. They do it by showing you unexpected things and that is what makes it so magical. I wished I would have caught the girls faces with the camera. We all agreed early on in the trip that we didn’t need to go and see the characters. But they were so excited to see these guys, and I have to admit I was too. I have looked at this photo a lot in the last few days and smiled.
I also have to smile at my girls, are they ever growing up, slowly getting more independent . Joy and I realized that last week in Fargo, at the hotel’s pool. We no longer need to be right in the water with the girls. Granted its a lot more fun to be swimming with them, but Joy and I got some time just to sit and chat at one of the tables beside the pool. That has never happened before. It was cool and sad at the same time. As parents our role is starting to shift. Not saying we have to stop parenting, we have a lot of that left to do. But the shift is started.
Anyway that is it for me.
Everyone have a good day!
Home for almost a week now!
Hey everyone.
Well we have been home for almost a week. I have to say that Manitoba is COLD, Florida was HOT. I am not complaining, but it would be nice too to be where it is a bit warmer.
Being home has meant that Sara has gotten a cold. Hopefully she is better for next week because she is heading to camp for the week. She is looking forward to. Sonya will be heading to the Museum for a few dinosaur day camp events and VBS at the Alliance Church.
So that is life back in Manitoba
