Scapbook wise

It has been a productive week, I guess.  I have worked on three LO’s and I am at my point of, I have to move on, but the LO’s don’t feel done.  

This week I did some surfing looking for sketches and based the following three LO’s on Sketches or Scrap lifts I found, but do you think I kept the links?  NOOOOOOOOOO.  I have been drawing to simple styles or LO’s with a lot of white space.  But I CAN’T LEAVE WHITE SPACE.  I think I am gonna have to challenge myself to do a LO with white space. 

ANYHOW here are the LO’s!

This LO is about what happens when you go to IKEA! 

I did an 8 by 12 photo, I haven’t used one that big for awhile.  The quote “You already have everything you need to be great” was a freebie from the digital online crop I joined last week. I felt it fit for the journaling for this LO. Because the photos are taken when the girls were just learning to skate.  You should see them now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In other news.  I noticed early on this week that they are putting up a new cell phone tower in town.  I am hoping it is Rogers.  I so want an I PHONE!  Just not sure if I can justive the monthly expence.  Unless I am doing something wrong.  the montly bill will be around 100 bucks a month.  sniff sniff sniff.

In other more important news, I found this article on line The Fate of CK meadia .  I am not sure how I feel about that.  I will be honest in the last year and a Bit I have not even looked at Creating Keepsakes.  But  I have picked up the Feb and March issues…..(I know how to I justify it on a spending spree…I don’t and I move on)  and really like them.  The articles seem to be more than just fluff and the LO’s are actual scrapable LO’s  One of the LO’s I did was based on a LO in the Mag.  

Next week should be interesting for me.  We are taking Joy to the airport tomorrow because it is her conferrence time again.  This time she is going to Montreal.  The girls and I are staying home.  

Sara has two play dates already planned for the weekend, she is becoming the social butterfly.  The switch is starting, friends are starting to become more important than family.  I know its a good thing, I know is shows that her homelife is secure in her mind. It means she is growing up….

Sonya on the other hand is really happy just staying home.  I almost have to arrange play dates for her because by the time she gets home from school she is done with friends.  I know that will change. but its kinda funny to have two girls in very different stages.  but its all good.

 

I guess that is all I have to say today.

Its OFFICAL!

I am going to Florida for 3 weeks.  Granted it will be from June 19 to July 12.  The hottest time of year to go!!!!!!  But I am so excited I could just scream.  

You may be asking why am I going.  well……

After Grade 12 the church I was involved with at the time sent me on a Mission trip to Europe, with an organization called Teen Missions International. or TMI  (click the link to learn more about them).   I have been wanting to go back for a few years now, but our girls have been too young for me to be gone that long.  But now they are older, I don’t have that excuse.  SO I am gonna go volunteer at their bootcamp.  I am not sure what I will be doing, cuz applied for general help.

After much discussion with Joy and a lot of time praying about it, a couple of weeks ago I sent in the my info packet.  Still not really believing that I would be going.   Well tonight I bought my air fare!  WHOO HOOO!  So I am going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And cuz I have an amazing wife who also understands my Disney Desire.  I am also gonna take a few days to take in Disney once More!

MY stamps!

Hi all here is a close up photo of my acrylic stamps.  

I bought some cases to put my stamps in.  I think they are by SEE DEE’s (not sure though)  but I realized that they are the same case that Fancy Pants puts their chipboard in, so I dumped the chipboard and organized them in my chipboard drawer.  Then I put more stamps on it.  I really like how easy it is to see all of them.

okay I am a little undecided about my blog
I am thinking about changing my blog but WordPress doesnt have a lot of options.
But is that worth it?
Is it worth changing to Blogger?
Help me make up my mind.

online crop

There is an online “digital” crop this week-end.  I have never joined one before, so I figured I would do a challenge, at least one.  It is at  Digital Designers. The following LO was done with a Layered template.  You just drop in photos, digital paper and journal.  Easy!!!! This is what it looks like. I really like how simple it looks, I so want to add to it, though.  That is my problem, I hardly ever feel like a LO is finished,  I just have to move on.   Tonight we are heading to Mada (I think that is how you spell it)  All I know is it means STEAK!

We are going with friends that have just gotten back from Disney Land.  I am going through Disney with drawl so bad at the moment.  So I want to go and hear all about their trip to live vicariously through them. Looking forward to it.

But before that happens I need to get a few things done around the house!

Here is my space after a weekend cleaning. It felt good to purge and re organize a bit.  It kinda gave me the confidence to call it my STUDIO!

Unfortunately it doesn’t look this clean any more…just cuz I have created 4plus LO this week with one more on my table not quiet finished.

Joy spent a lot of her time helping me and I realized that I am a very lucky and to prove it

The LO was created using a sketch from just cre8!  You should check out the site…it is way to cool.

Pack Rat NO MORE

Okay its official.  I am bored.  I don’t know what to do!

I decided last night that I was wasting way to much time playing Packrat on Facebook.  So I decided to cancel my subscription. Yea I was paying money to play.  But not any more.  

Now I am so bored!

Oh yea…happy valentines day!  Hope you were able to spend it with family and friends.

Here is the companion LO for Sara’s Birthday. 

It is hare to read on it, but its called Cake and Presents. Another Hybrid LO. I am totally enjoying them.

 

Yesterday I made Lasagna Soup for dinner YUM YUM, I so have to share a photo of it.

Someone over at Myscrapshoppe posted the recipe…. But here it is.

1 lb. italian sausage 
2 c. onion, chopped 
1 c. carrots, diced 
2 c. mushrooms, sliced 
2 cloves garlic, minced 
4 c. chicken stock 
1 can Italian stewed tomatoes (14 oz.) 
1 can tomato sauce (10 oz) 
1 cup dry pasta (I use broken lasagna noodles) 
2 c. fresh spinach, chopped 
diced/shredded mozzarella 

Brown sausage in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and carrots, saute until softened (about 5 mins). Stir in mushrooms and garlic and continue to saute for another 5 mins. Add broth, tomatoes and tomato sauce and bring to a boil. Drop pasta and simmer until cooked (about 10 mins.) Stir in spinach until wilted. 

Serve with mozzarella on top.

It is so easy You need to try it.

Other stuff.  I get to go to Winnipeg tomorrow I have an eye appointment.  Which means that I will also have some time to go out for coffee and watch a movie.  I am looking forward to tomorrow.

So Tanya here is the second one.  It is done with another Digital Template.  I really like using them.  

So that is my two for you and heck it is only Wednesday.  And I still have two LO’s floating around  in my head.  It feels good to be creative again.

 

Speaking of being Creative, I posted a sort of chain letter or note on my facebook.  I generally don’t do that sort of thing but this one was neat.  The idea is the person before me offered to do something creative for me and Surpise me with it.  I thought that was a fantastic idea. Plus I think Corinne is a really talented person and I would really like some art work from her…HINT HINT HINT.   

The catch is I had to offer it to 5 more people and they inturn have to offer it too, and so on and so on.  So I have been thinking all day about I can creatively bless the 5 that signed up.

A few Lay Out’s or LO’s

Okay I cannot believe it either, but I have been scrapping.  It feels so good to be creative.  I still need to organize my scrap space though.  Scrap space, to be honest I hate that name,  I would love to call it my Studio but then I would have to admit that I am an artist.  Or at least an artist of some sort…just not there yet.  I am gonna be thankful that I am being creative again.

This First LO, The photo is almost two years old and you have already seen it on my blog.  This is the first page I have with my Mom, since her passing.  There is no journaling and there will not be any.  I will do another LO “hopefully”.

There is a bit of symbolism going on here.  Showing the seasons of life.  The white corner “winter” symbolizes the sadness the darkness of that season.  The other is spring busting with life.  The butterfly shows that even though we are not ready for all this change life goes on.

A bit deep, I know but I love that a.  

The photo is printed on Bazzil Textured paper; the white embellishments are digital ones.

The Next two are just simple LO’s. I kinda like simple right now.
